ICTforRegenAg: The role of digital tools in facilitating a transition to regenerative agriculture

Agriculture emits close to 1/3rd of the total global GHG emissions; consequently, the sector has a critical role in mitigating climate change and limiting global warming. On the other hand, it is challenged by issues of soil degradation and increased exposure to climate-related vulnerabilities. To curb the carbon footprint of agriculture and to restore natural resources (including soil), there has been an increasing focus on regenerative agriculture globally.

This session at ICTforAg 2022, co-created by IDH - The Sustainable Trade Initiative, dove into how regenerative agriculture at scale has the potential to increase soil carbon, biodiversity, and climate resilience, and is an essential strategy to achieve net-zero commitments.
