Welcome to ICTforAg 2022 | Opening Plenary

Digital technologies can play an important role in better farm management, reducing the cost of production, increasing farm income, and contributing to more climate-friendly agriculture practices. However, we face challenges in the digital infrastructure in LMICs, and the challenge of the gender-digital divide.

The Opening Plenary session at ICTforAg 2022 showed how the conference offers an interactive virtual experience focused on technical dialogue and fostering collaboration across the digital agriculture community, and how organizations like USAID and GIZ are promoting digital agriculture.

Speakers:

  • Dr.Jim N. Barnhart, Assistant to the Administrator, USAID/RFS

  • Sebastian Lesch, Head of the Agriculture Unit, Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ)

  • Racheal Wangari, Manager, Intellecap
