Community Guidelines

We are thrilled to have you join us at ICTforAg 2022. To ensure your conference experience is inclusive, engaging and impactful, we ask that you take a few minutes to familiarize yourself  with our etiquette guide.

We ask that as you participate in the sessions and engage with other attendees and speakers, you heed to the following guidelines:

  1. Be respectful. Please ensure that all communications within the conference on Whova are conducted with respect, awareness and tolerance of all differences, including but not limited to gender, race, ethnicity, religion, and culture.

  2. Kindly be reminded that participation in communication during the conference although encouraged is voluntary.

  3. ❌ Spam. We have a no tolerance policy on ‘mass-messaging’. Spammers who  look for ‘likes’ doing mass-broadcasting risk being banned from the conference. This includes tagging people you do not know in photos or creating multiple discussion boards. Participants who are trying to get ahead on the Whova leaderboard by using mass messaging or commenting may be removed from the platform.

  4. Be mindful.  Make sure that communications within the conference platform are conducted with respect for under-represented groups and that attempts are made to avoid marginalization or exclusion.

  5. Help consolidate information. We urge you to consider looking through the discussions and topics on our community board and joining one before creating similar discussion groups and topics to avoid redundancy.

  6. Be patient with us. Speakers and the conference organizing team will be busy during the day of the conference and as such may not be able to offer prompt responses to all requests and messages. Kindly bare with us, we endeavor to respond to all inquiries as soon as we can.

  7. Speak out! In case you experience any inappropriate behaviour or abuse on our platform or see something in the discussion groups and chats that our team has yet to flag, email contact@ictforag.com immediately with the subject line “Whova Issue” or contact one of our organizers directly through Whova messaging.

In the event the above guidelines are not followed, we reserve the right to exclude those participants.
