MinAh Kim is an intern under the Digital Innovation Initiative of the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI). She is pursuing a Master of Science in Data Science for Public Policy at Georgetown University McCourt School of Public Policy. Kim previously worked in non-profit organizations such as the Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA) in Rwanda and the Asia-Japan Women Resource Center (AJWRC) in Japan. Her goal is to be a data scientist who can amplify the voice of marginalized communities across borders in international development.
Three junior data scientists from Tanzania, India, and U.S. will present their agricultural data science work, highlighting their innovative approaches (data they analyze, tools they use, and analysis objectives), inspirational stories (challenges they face, how they overcome them, and what motivates them), and inclusion aspects (how they ensure their data science work contribute to the mission of their organizations/programs).
