Natalia is an experienced business leader in the area of international development and digital innovation, with extensive experience in low- and middle-income countries across key impact sectors with focus on agriculture, climate change, natural resource management, and digital health. Natalia has designed and delivered multi-million dollar development programmes in partnerships with major donors and various private sector partners across the globe, initiating and scaling life-changing services for 20+ million users across LMIC. Natalia holds MBA degree for Said Business School, University of Oxford.
Traditionally since the establishment of voluntary carbon markets, available climate finance did not trickle down to smallholders for a number of reasons. However, recent use of remote sensing finally makes this opportunity viable from cost and operational perspective. In this session we will explore the bottlenecks associated with accessing carbon markets for smallholders and look at one successful example of how this access could be enabled in an inclusive way, while fairly rewarding farmer for their transition to climate-smart agriculture.
